Jacquard fabric is a general term for patterned fabrics woven on a jacquard loom. The pattern on the fabric is formed by interweaving different threads. The most typical representatives are the brocade and damask.
The material is a combination of fibres and comprises the main features of all fibres in the combination.
Polyester is a synthetic fiber used either alone or in a mixture with other fibers. It has high hardness and excellent resistance and does not wrinkle. Due to the low absorption it dries quickly. It withstands sunlight and most chemicals.
Viscose is a regenerated cellulose fibre (fibre produced from natural cellulose my means of chemical method) which imitates the different types of materials, such as silk, cotton, wool, etc. Viscose is pleasantly soft, smooth and thin; it falls nicely. It is very popular in summer due to its coolness. It is more absorbent than cotton and less stiff when wet. Viscose products can be washed at a lower temperature; however, delicate laundry detergent is recommendable. Do not tumble dry. Since viscose is produced from wood fibres and maintained by water, it dries slowly.
Cotton is a natural fibre derived from the seeds of the cotton plant. It is soft, excellent absorbent, good insulator, pleasant to the touch and to wear. The quality of cotton depends on its purity, fibre length and dyeing, while the quality of the fabric depends on the thickness of thread, a way of weaving, various dressings and treatment. Many cotton blends exist, especially cotton and artificial fibres.
Metallised fibres are effective, decorative fibres responsible for the material shine.
