Linen has a long tradition. Until cotton was brought to Europe from the Middle East, flax had been the most important fibre. It is a natural fibre, which quickly intakes moisture and casts it as quickly. It has low elongation and high strength, which is further increased in a wet state. It is characterized by rigidity and inelasticity and this is why the products derived from flax fibres wrinkle. Flax fibre is also found in blends with silk, wool, cotton, viscose and other natural and chemical fibres.
Wash before use because of shrinking.
Linen products can be ironed at a higher temperature, but only the reverse side. During washing linen becomes softer, but it is necessary to take into account the high percentage of shrinkage at first wash.
